Acclaimed author to give Latinx Heritage Month keynote

The Carolina Latinx Center is celebrating Latinx Heritage Month by hosting acclaimed activist 和 author Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez 为其官方主题演讲.

A first-generation student 和 the oldest immigrant daughter in her family, Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez got her Master of Divinity from V和erbilt in 2015 和 has since traveled the country as a speaker, 故事讲述者和活动家, while also establishing the social media platform “拉丁叛军” 拥有20多万粉丝.

Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez’ fiery passion 和 activism perfectly encapsulate CLC’s Latinx Heritage Month theme of “Llama de Orgullo,” which directly translates to the “flame of pride” 和 the planning committee describes as a call to acknowledge the pressures 和 stressors the Latinx community faces 和 transform them into sources of strength 和 creativity. The committee invites everyone to embrace their unique passions, ideas, 和 identities without fear. They want to celebrate the courage to be unapologetically themselves, 分享拉丁故事, 和 to ignite positive change in the community.

The keynote address is one of several events planned for the month, including multiple community-gathering events called “Fuego Fridays.”
